Lilith Lane weaves documentary-style, art film with nostalgic celestial fantasy to create a theatrical backdrop to the song ‘Astro (Come Here)’ from her latest acoustic album, Trickery.

The final verse of this Naarm/Melbourne-based singer/songwriter’s spacious piano ballad ‘Astro (Come Here)’ was inspired by a childhood obsession to marry Japanese animation character Astro Boy. It was filmed on set at a photo shoot by photographer Tilly Parsons. The video weaves behind-the-scenes footage and incidental performance into an intimate ethereal piece. The natural environment, set, camera, artist, photographer and assistants become characters within the film as the local landscape is transformed into another world. Lane recorded footage between photography set-ups, edited together this video that sees her imagining traversing the skies with an elusive cyber partner.
Astro is the second music video to accompany her latest album. It continues the playfulness of the video to the title track to ‘Trickery’, which sees Lane perform a solitary performance in her studio where the album was recorded. Trickery is the fourth studio album by Lilith Lane and can be found in all good digital outlets, on vinyl and CD. www.lilithlane.com
